The Athenaeum and the Digital Humanities

The Sheridan Libraries Athenaeum will combine a physical presence in the Brody Learning Commons with a virtual reach to all corners of the world. By harnessing the power of technology in ways that will enhance and transform studies in the humanities, our students and faculty will produce new scholarship through the process of teaching, the pedagogical heart of the university, and research, the university’s soul.

Winston Tabb, the Sheridan Dean of University Libraries and Museums, shares information about the new Johns Hopkins University center for the digital humanities, the Athenaeum. The name alludes to history, but this initiative embraces the future, helping foster a community of scholars, crossing disciplines, and sharing knowledge with the world.
