For the ninth year, students, faculty, and administrators gathered for a formal meal and an evening of celebration and informal conversation.

At this First-Year Banquet, Krieger's James B. Knapp Dean Beverly Wendland and Whiting's Benjamin T. Rome Dean Ed Schlesinger led those assembled in a toast, recognizing the students’ milestone of being halfway through their first year at Johns Hopkins. Several student speakers included Freshman Class President Sam Schatmeyer and Freshman Class Senator Coco Cai.

The dinner is supported by the Hopkins Parents Fund, which is dedicated to enriching the Homewood student experience.
