How to make a gift in support of our international work

Choose from a variety of giving methods

To make a gift in support of Johns Hopkins' international work, you may choose from a variety of giving methods:

  • Make a gift online to any of the Hopkins divisions listed in our dropdown menu, using your credit card.
  • Send a gift through the mail to the Director of International Programs at the address below, using our printable giving form and providing either your credit card information or a check payable to The Johns Hopkins University.
  • Make an outright gift of securities, such as stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares, by working through the Johns Hopkins Office of Gift Planning, which handles all such transactions.
  • Make a planned gift through a bequest or life-income gift, such as a charitable gift annuity, by working through the Johns Hopkins Office of Gift Planning, which handles all such transactions.

Considerations if you live outside the United States

The Office of International Programs stands ready to help with all aspects of your gifts to Johns Hopkins. Please contact the Director of International Programs (see above) at any time for assistance.

In addition to choosing a giving method from those listed above, you should also consider tax benefits and other aspects of giving as specific to your country. We have provided helpful information below for donors from Canada, the United Kingdom, European countries, and Hong Kong; donors from other areas should contact the Director of International Programs. For all donors, we recommend that you check with your local professionals concerning tax benefits.

For Donors from Canada

Because Johns Hopkins is listed on Schedule VIII of the Canadian Income Tax Act, gifts to Johns Hopkins by donors from Canada may be treated as though they were made to a Canadian institution. There is no requirement that the Canadian donor or a family member be or have been a student at Hopkins. We recommend that you review the Canada Revenue Agency's Gifts and Income Tax document for more information.

For Donors from the United Kingdom

Gifts by donors from the United Kingdom may be eligible for Gift Aid when given through:
