Rising to The Challenge: Palo Alto Highlights

On Thursday, October 24, 2013, Johns Hopkins University President Ronald J. Daniels and fellow members of the Northern California community of Johns Hopkins alumni, parents, and friends came together for fun, networking, and a fascinating glimpse into Rising to the Challenge: The Campaign for Johns Hopkins.

The event featured a lively panel discussion on one of our key campaign priorities, the Johns Hopkins Science of Learning Institute, led by institute director Barbara Landau, PhD.

Dr. Landau, vice provost for faculty affairs at the Johns Hopkins University and the Dick and Lydia Todd Professor of Cognitive Science at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences, led a group of faculty experts from across Hopkins in describing early successes of the multidisciplinary institute. The panel explored new approaches and tools for improving learning throughout our lifetime, and engaged audience participants in a conversation about some of the opportunities and challenges ahead.
